Relocating?.....8 Tips To Help You Buy
Tip #1 Request a relocation package be sent to you. A relocation package will give you a general overview of the area. If you will send me your mailing address, I'll be glad to send one to you right away.
Tip #2 Use the Internet to meet and develop a relationship with a Realtor you are confident will get you the information you want and with which you feel comfortable. You'll want to communicate via both email and phone as often as necessary before you arrive to town. My job is not to sell you but to educate you on our city, local community and those things that are of particular interest or concern to you. Please call or email me to allow me to get to know you and your interests.
Tip #3 I would highly recommend that before you visit to look at homes that you get pre approved for a home loan. I will be happy to recommend several local lenders. It can all be done via phone, fax and email, and you will receive a pre approval letter from the lender or mortgage broker. When you find a home that you want to purchase, the pre approval letter can be the tie breaker if more than one contract is submitted on the same property. Just ask and I'll put you in touch with several people that can help you.
Tip #4 Before you leave home, allow a "local" to assist you with hotel and restaurant information and any other things that you may need when you arrive. I'd be happy to offer my personal recommendations if you desire.
Tip #5 After you arrive in town, I suggest that you get a tour of the entire area. Get a feel for the infrastructure to include roads, traffic, shopping and recreation before looking at houses. It would be a privilege for me to conduct this tour for you and your family.
Tip #6 It's critical that you look at houses with a Realtor that is representing you and not the seller. Our state has a law that requires a Realtor to disclose in writing who they represent. When a Realtor is representing you, they will do everything to help you get your best buy. I have much experience with buyer representation and would look forward to representing you when looking at homes.
Tip #7 When you find the home you want to purchase, it's important to have the opportunity to have a home inspection and pest inspection. I will be happy to recommend inspectors for you.
Tip #8 After you purchase your home and get settled, you will need to know who to call for your everyday services. You will want a list of people and companies that provide the basic services that you will need. Over the years I have assembled a list of quality people and companies that include who to call for a hair cut, house painting, dentist, lawn service, house cleaning, etc. It would be my pleasure to provide you with information when I meet you.
The above tips represent an overview of some things you should consider when relocating and selecting a Realtor. I hope you found them helpful.
Please call or email me so that I can assist you with all of your relocation needs. I look forward to hearing from you.
